Pacific North Hydrovac is a locally owned & operated hydro-excavation business based in Smithers BC. We offer hydrovac services throughout BC’s Northwest, from Prince George to Prince Rupert and all the way up to the Yukon border. We value integrity and honesty and ensure all our jobs are done in the safest and most cost-effective way for our customers.
Our Story
Pacific North Hydrovac was founded by local, Mike Neiser, who had originally launched the venture as an Electrical Contracting business (MCN Electrical) back in 2014. While operating the electrical contracting business, Mike had the opportunity to work on a huge variety of projects alongside most of the large industrial contractors in the region; projects with Forrest Kerr Hydro-Electric and Brucejack Mine, contracts with West Fraser Sawmills, and work on the Port Security Office Complex for the Prince Rupert Port Authority. On all of these worksites, Mike saw that there was a need for a safe and efficient solution to excavating around existing infrastructure. Hyrdo-excavation was the obvious solution. So after further evaluation of the idea while completing a Water Treatment project in the village of Granisle, Mike decided to go all-in. He acquired his first hydrovac truck, gained the technical skills required for safe hydro-excavation, and in August of 2021 officially relaunched his business as Pacific North Hydrovac. The business has been growing ever since and Mike is proud to be able to offer industry-leading hydro-excavation services to his community of industrial contractors in Northern BC and beyond.
